    <description>Hi Modi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1.Take Full backup of O/S and data &lt;BR /&gt;2.Install vPar software on your production server &lt;BR /&gt;3. Shutdown Production O/S &lt;BR /&gt;4. Install HPUX 11.11 on separate  Hard disk &lt;BR /&gt;5. Boot from that HDD and install vPar software &lt;BR /&gt;6. Shutdown O/S and boot production server &lt;BR /&gt;7. Create Vpar 0 and assign 12CPUâ  s , 48GB memory and 8 I/O slots &lt;BR /&gt;8. Create Vpar 1 and assign 04CPUâ  s , 16GB memory and 8 I/O slots &lt;BR /&gt;9.       <description>Hi All,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We have RP7420 Machine OS HPUX 11.11 with Current configuration:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;•One hard partition (nPar0) with 16CPU’s, 64GB memory, 16 I/O’s&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We need to Change configuration as:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;•Create two Virtual partitions&lt;BR /&gt;•vPar0 with 12 CPUs 48GB memory 12 I/O slots(For production server)&lt;BR /&gt;•Vpar1 with 4 CPU’s 16GB  memory 4 I/O slots(For test server)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Now machine is in production and we don't want to loose current OS, please guide what steps we follow to do this activity.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Best Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Modi&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>As already stated, read the manuals, it is explained in there, but to possibly reassutre you the steps include installing the Vpar software on your exisiting root disk, creating the first vpar to INCLUDE the current boot disk and then rebooting into a vpar using the exisiting boot disk.&lt;BR /&gt;Hence nothing is lost from your current OS.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>I agree with melvin, but you must decide how to configure the second partition? Golden image or you install using npar installation?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the advantage if using golden image is you no need downtime for vpar0, but more difficult to configure golden image&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;using npar installation is a simple way, you just boot to cd rom ad install to vpar1's disk.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks&lt;BR /&gt;freddy</description>
