cannot stop diald

Cannot stop diald on my CommandView 1.09 installation. HA_Dial_Stop stops everything expect diald. Kill -9 doesn't work, too.
Can I stop this daemon without reboot ?

Jurgen,

If sending a signal with Kill -9 does not work, probably that process is going to keep on waiting for another signal to happen, which most likely is not going to occur.

The only solution would be to reboot the machine.

Also, if this the first time that you have issues with that process? May somebody in the forums will be able to resolve the root problem.

It should look like this:

/opt/sanmgr/commandview/client/sbin/HA_Dial_Stop
Removing hp StorageWorks Command View from watchdog configuration.
NOTE: Stopping diald. Please wait...
NOTE: dial stopped.
NOTE: HostAgent has stopped
NOTE: hostwatchdog stopped
NOTE: Stopped all ovsam applications

Hi Juergen,

If you're unable to stop the daemon through Torsten's suggestion, and if 'kill -9 ' doesn't work, I'm afraid the process is an orphan, and you will have to reboot.

I have never seens problems while stopping ...

Do you have cvui/GUI sessions running?
Did you install java patches (1.4.2) like suggested in the release notes?
