      <description>You can do this, but the better choice is ignite.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Because in case of fbackup you need to install the OS prior to restore the backup.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Try "man make_tape_recovery" ;-)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Your question has no meaning. Fbackup deals with mounted filesystems and vg00 consists of filesystems and raw LVOL's (ie swap).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Bear in mind that a full backup of the filesystems housed within /dev/vg00 while good to have to restore certain files is not suficient to bring a dead box back to life. The tool of choice for that is make_tape_recovery -- which is part of Ignite-UX. You need to install and read the Ignite-UX documentation and then you actually do backup /dev/vg00 -- just not with fbackup.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://www.docs.hp.com/en/IUX/" target="_blank"&gt;http://www.docs.hp.com/en/IUX/&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
