If you are using hP printer install hppi software on it and launch the software. It is a very easy menu driven. You will understand everything as soon as you open the application.

Use SAM for creating remote printers.

I found that using Hp JetAdmin is the easy way of creating local printers, providing you are using HP printers with internal JetDirect cards, external JetDirect boxes for non HP printers. The use of the HP JetAdmin software on a PC to monitor the printers is also very good now that it is web based.
