Hi guys,
Can i convert my system into a trusted system..........what abt the existing root password....wont it get affected.??
I must do it through sam.........or command.......????

1.root password wont get affected.
2. through sam only it is possible, i think.

To convert to a Trusted System, run SAM, highlight â Auditing and Securityâ and activate any of the audit screens to get to the Convert to Trusted System prompt. You may receive a confirmation prompt. Press Y to begin the conversion process

1. /usr/lbin/tsconvert can be used to convert to a trusted system.

An added note on the password - when you convert any characters beyond 8 will be ignored when converted

i.e. password1234 becomes password

Also, it is a good idea to have a second root wondow open when converting the system. The root password is sometimes disabled by the conversion. This way you can test in the other other window and still have a way to reset the password if the account is locked.

/usr/lbin/modprpw -k root ill reset password
