      <title>cannot view logical volumes inside SAM</title>

      <description>i have problem when trying to access logical volumes list thru SAM&amp;gt;&amp;gt;Disks and file systems&amp;gt;&amp;gt;logical volumes. The SAM seem cannot do its job while retrieving information..can anyone help me?</description>

      <description>You have an array hardware failure:&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;"The amdsp command failed."&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;The rest of the messages are all related to that failure. You may have a lot of other errors in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log too. Time to call HP service.</description>

      <description>Hey;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In addition to all the other suggestions, particularly, Bill Hassel's, lose sam.  The command line is your friend.  You could have found the answer significantly quicker using these commands:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;vgdisplay&lt;BR /&gt;pvdisplay&lt;BR /&gt;ioscan&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and by examining the system log in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Doug</description>

      <description>which logical volumes are you trying to list, is it vg00 or other volume group, use vgdisplay -v vg00 (or other volume group) to list all logical volumes, are you able to do this ? also as mark says use ioscan -kfnC disk to find out whether the revelant disks are listed and claimed..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;With Regards&lt;BR /&gt;Nagashankar</description>
