      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can create a user in the normal way, using sam --&amp;gt; users --&amp;gt; add --&amp;gt;&lt;BR /&gt;give the login name --&amp;gt; select the shell as /usr/bin/rsh --- then complete the creation by filling up the rest of the options.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then edit the .profile of the user's home directory and give an exit command at the end of the file. And ensure that the username is not specified in the file /etc/ftpusers.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;That's it , u r done..&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cheers !!!&lt;BR /&gt;Mathew&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;just set the login shell of your ftp-user to /usr/bin/false. This User will never be able to login. He will only be allowed to use ftp.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;See also man ftpd, which describes this.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards Stefan</description>

      <description>You can set up an ftpaccess file.  As stated above, do not give the user a shell. Use the false shell.  You will need to make sure the false shell is in /etc/shells.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;man ftpaccess</description>
