Hi Team,

From my console MP repeatedly output this message:
INIT: Command is respawning too rapidly.
Will try again in 5 minutes.
Check for possible errors.
id:icap "/usr/lbin/icapd # Instant Capacity daemon"

You need to interrupt boot process and edit /etc/inittab file to remove/comment out for the following entries for iCOD.

icod:icap "/usr/lbin/icapd # Instant Capacity daemon"

icod:23456:respawn:/usr/lbin/icodd # iCOD daemon

and then reboot.

comment the icapd-line out in the /etc/inittab.
then run it from command line and look for errors.

Also you did not specify the OS, but if you are running 11.23 there is already a patch for this error:

you may not have license for iCOD but software installed and activated?

If you don't have iCOD license better remove or comment out that entry in inittab.

Once system is up then you can bring it manually to troubleshoot.

That patch was supposed to fix the issue, even on the description of the patch it says it will, and is the patch is already configured.

If it was me, I would give them a quick call to HP, tell them the patch did not fix your issue and you need a new solution, that patch it's still a two start patch, so I guess they might be missing some testing still.
