Restarting the daemon has not helped.

Indeed, the program works just fine, just annoying to see the error message every time.

This is actually a client problem. You are running a some sort of Xwindows emulator (WRQ Reflection/X, Hummingbird Exceed, Linux workstation, etc) and when Ignite asked for a certain font, your emulator did not have it. This is extremely common in Xwindows which is why HP-UX can act as a font server. Once you configure the font server on HP-UX, change your local client to use the HP-UX system as a source for fonts and the error will go away.

Or, just run a telnet session rather than all that graphic stuff and you won't have to deal with fonts (and colors, etc).

No, I am not running any emulators, I telnet to the machine and export the display variable, and then do xhost to allow the X server to connect. I have to use full GUI because Ignite is GUI...

> No, I am not running any emulators, I telnet to the machine and export the display variable, and then do xhost to allow the X server to connect. I have to use full GUI because Ignite is GUI...

Well, unless your screen is plugged into a Linux or other Unix workstation, there is something on your local box that translates the X11 protocol into images on your screen. Unless your local computer is an HP-UX workstation, there is likely to be a font mismatch once in a while -- thus the need to configure your local computer to use the HP-UX font server.

Hi,

if the font server is already running on your HP server, enter that in your shell (once) before starting ignite:

xset +fp tcp/hp-hostname:7000

(or whatever port your xfs is running, 7000 is default).

mfG Peter
