OS upgrades

We have 2 K380 servers. One has 10.20 and the other has 11.00. Management has decided they can both be upgraded. Can I upgrade directly from 10.20 and 11.00 to 11.23?

Richard,
I normally go cold install, rather than upgrade. In the past I have had problems with the upgrade path. That way you know you have a clean install.

Obviously perform a backup before!

according to the documentation your K-Class servers are NOT supported with 11.23:

But you can install 11.11.

I would prefer a cold install.

I wrongly assumed that since SUM showed 11.23 available for our servers it was valid. Where can I find a matrix of the upgrade path for a K380?

What else you want to know about upgrade for K380 like hardware or software. If you have HP support contract, you can talk to HP and see what they recommend.

Hi Richard,

I would have to agree with Peter. I would go with a cold install. It seems that upgrades never seem to work well. Plus then you need to worry about application working.

The unsupported list is hard to find but here is an excerpt. It is doc ID: KBRC00017301. No K-class servers are supported after 11.11 (or 11i v1)
