Kernel build failed

Hello,

I tried to connect a serial barcode-scanner on a HP9000/744-workstation by using the iosetup-command (OS: HP-UX 10.20). But the final kernel-build failed with the message:
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: Found 19 duplicate symbol(s)
Stop.
*** Error exit code 1
Kernel build failed!
Result=256.
Error... Kernel build failed.

The duplicate symbol are in the libraryâ s â vme2stub.oâ and â s747_stub.oâ inside the archive "/etc/opt/sicl/libsicldrvr.a".

How can I solve this problem??

the S.O this not obtaining to interpret these characters special. it would be interesting to verify the reason that these symbos estao in the place of the correct name.

Shalom,

Check the integrity of /stand filesystem to another working system if one is available.

Check the environment against this system as well.

If its environmental, you may find trying the compile with SAM will provide success of confirmaiton of the problem.

Hello,

unfortunately I have only one 744/VME-Workstation but I compared with a 745.
There are several different files more in the /stand/build like on the 745.
Attached you can find a compare between this two systems by building the kernel manually.
It is still fail, Only when I remove one of the two libraries (vme2.o ; s747_stub.o) out of the archive â /etc/opt/sicl/libsicldrvr.aâ , I can build the kernel successfully.
In the environment-setting I can not see a relation to this problem.
