You need to disable True End Of Job for each print queue. Cd to /var/spool/lp/interface. For each Network printer interface file, (e.g. /var/spool/lp/interface/myprinter), edit the file and locate the line where TEOJ is set and replace it with 'TEOJ=""'.

Printer Looping Problem.

We are in the process of deploying printers for a new application. The printer's are mostly HPLJ 4250's. They will be printing fine then all of a sudden they will print page 1 of a report and then keep looping, printing first page then extra blank page. I first thought that the printer needed to be hard coded to print pcl instead of auto negotiste for native printing. This happens very intermittenly and when it does happen it is when we are printing BOL's from JDE Peoplesoft on HP-UX 11i. The only way to fix this is disable the printer, cycle the spooler, and re-enable printer. It works fine then. This is not the same printer all the time and I cannot re-create it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Brien

Hi,

I had similar problem. My printer prints an extra blan page after each page after an firmware upgrade of the printer itself.
I changed de TEOJ parameter on the interface, but had no luck.

Do I have to stop/start the spooler/printer in order to this change to become active.

please advice ...

thanks in advance
John Destreel

John, you might have better luck if you opened a new thread...

this issue has a "bunny" so people may not look at it.

it's doubtful that your issue is with the hp spooler as it occurred after a firmware update on the printer itself.

Please note printer mfg / model as well.
