    <description>Thanks all for the response&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;now, i have attached the ioscan output and the disks with -----are used i mean they are in /etc/lvmtab. so, now i can use other disks to extend the VG.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/cxtxdx &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;vgextend vgora /dev/dsk/cxtxdx&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and can anyone suggest the above commands i gave r correct? or do we need to give any other optionsfor PE...and this VG's /vgora and /oradata is on cluster...FYI...so please suggest&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>now here i need the below file systmes to be created it 179 Gb of each.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;PSF88PCH : /oradata/psf88pch - 179200000 Kbs&lt;BR /&gt;PSF88DR   : /oradata/psf88dr - 179200000 KBs&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i have /dev/vgora = 47976 MB  and /dev/oradata  = 59536 MB&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;so any other way i can check or create the above filesystems ...</description>

      <description>Neither /dev/vgora or /dev/oradata are going to be anywhere near big enough to hold 179GB.  You need to look for unused disks and either extend your current VG or create a new VG.  Run "ioscan -fnCdisk" to get a list of all the disks attached to your system and compare that to the disks alread used, as shown in your "strings /etc/lvmtab" output above.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Pete</description>

      <description>Santy,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Let me see if I understood this right, you need to put 179GB in a 56, 57 GB space?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Well with the actual configuration is not possible, but you can add a couple of drive and then do a vgextend by adding physical drives.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;For more information take a look at the man page for vgextend.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Jaime.</description>
