checking the space

this is the output on my server A here how to check the space available..can anyone suggest me...

Santy,

You want to multiply the PE size for the Free PE, the total is going to be your free space in MB.

now here i need the below file systmes to be created it 179 Gb of each.

PSF88PCH : /oradata/psf88pch - 179200000 Kbs
PSF88DR : /oradata/psf88dr - 179200000 KBs

i have /dev/vgora = 47976 MB and /dev/oradata = 59536 MB

so any other way i can check or create the above filesystems ...

Neither /dev/vgora or /dev/oradata are going to be anywhere near big enough to hold 179GB. You need to look for unused disks and either extend your current VG or create a new VG. Run "ioscan -fnCdisk" to get a list of all the disks attached to your system and compare that to the disks alread used, as shown in your "strings /etc/lvmtab" output above.

Let me see if I understood this right, you need to put 179GB in a 56, 57 GB space?

Well with the actual configuration is not possible, but you can add a couple of drive and then do a vgextend by adding physical drives.

Friend the command to create one lvol e lvcreate - so great L of the LV in MB - n lvname /dev/vgxxx newfs - F vxfs - largefiles /dev/vgxxx/rlvname

Thanks all for the response

now, i have attached the ioscan output and the disks with -----are used i mean they are in /etc/lvmtab. so, now i can use other disks to extend the VG.

pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/cxtxdx

vgextend vgora /dev/dsk/cxtxdx

and can anyone suggest the above commands i gave r correct? or do we need to give any other optionsfor PE...and this VG's /vgora and /oradata is on cluster...FYI...so please suggest

pvcreate -f /dev/rdsk/cxdxtx

vgextend /dev/vgxx /dev/dsk/cxdxtx
