Also, you may want to set masquerade to youe email domain - ie you@yourdomain.com:

DMyourdomain.com

For the hosts and nsswitch.conf - that depends - what is in there now?

Can you resolve the ip of the netware server?

If yes - then you should be fine.

Rgds...Geoff

Hi,
modify your /etc/mail/sendmail.cf (grep for "relay host") to include
DS<YOUR domain="">
also, include your domain in /etc/hosts
and ensure the nsswitch.conf does read /etc/hosts at some point. Mine reads files first then DNS.</YOUR>

The DS entry is used to identify the mail relay through which you want to send mail. It can be the IP of the mail relay or a host name, as long as the host name can be resolved.

The Dj option is for the domain name of the server sending the mail. However, if you have entered the fully qualified domain name of the sending server in its /etc/hosts file you don't need to set it. The /etc/hosts entry would be like:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx server.domain

KJ
