    <description>this is the error i get when i extend thru SAM&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The command used to extend logical volumes, /sbin/lvextend, has                      &lt;BR /&gt; failed.  The stderr output from the command is shown below.  The            &lt;BR /&gt; logical volume has not been extended.                                                                &lt;BR /&gt;                                                                                &lt;BR /&gt; vgcfgbackup: /etc/lvmtab is out of date with the running                         &lt;BR /&gt; kernel:Kernel indicates 12 disks for "/dev/data1"; /etc/lvmtab has                &lt;BR /&gt; 11 disks.                                                                        &lt;BR /&gt; Cannot proceed with backup.                                                       &lt;BR /&gt;what is this error? how does it miss a disk?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;brian&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>check that you didn't miss disks.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;vgdisplay -v /dev/data1&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;mv /etc/lvmtab /tmp/lvmtab.old&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;vgscan -av&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and see if it can rebuild lvmtab.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It looks like you need to take of ghost disk for data1 volume group using lvreduce -m 0 -k /dev/data1/lvol ...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hello brian &lt;BR /&gt;check vgdisplay -v should show new disk.if its ok check pvdisplay -v of that specific disk ,it should not show any extent as stale.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;greetings</description>
