Adjust timeout for down lpd printers

HP-UX 11.11. We have quite a few network printers setup, many of them configured as lpd's ("remote"). Invariably some are turned off at any given time. This causes lpstat and listing print requests in SAM to take forever to complete - about 90 seconds per down printer.

Where is the parameter or adjustment to change this timeout?

That helped - lpstat time reduced to < 10 seconds, but SAM listing print requests still took 1 minute 20 seconds (down from almost 4 minutes).

What is SAM doing that takes so long? Can it be reduced even further?
