what do must i run for shutdown without start operating system?

what do must i run for shutdown for starting operating system?

please let me know

Hi manuales,

shutdown -h will stop the server without os.

shutdown -r will do a reboot so with an os.

HI Manuals.

To halt the server.

# shutdown -h now

To reboot the server

# shutdown -r now

To go into singal user mode

# shutdown

You can use following command
1>shutdown -h -y 0
2>shutdown -r 0
