Hi,I would like to know work around procedure or a solution for the situvation.
In a hpserver the root disk is under lvm control.I would like to encapulate the root disk underthe vxvm control and mirror it to the second disk on the system. IS it possible , documents that i read states it is impossible to initialize the lvm disks to vxvm control.HAve any body goone through this.
If so which utility can resolve this.please advice.

Depending on how HPUX was installed and what options were invoked hpux installs using the LVM manager vs raw sliced disk.

I am not sure why you wish to do what you are explaining above. The OS installs the way it does for a reason. Trying to convert it to something else may leave your configuration unusable.

Ok.
My intension is not to convert the LVM's.
I would like to configure the rootdg in my server and root mirror the second disk.
I want to be sure if i can encapsulate the root disk(lvm ) using vxvm utilities and mirror to second.

Can only be done if you have VxVM version 3.5. Look for the vxcl_lvmroot util. man vxcp_lvmroot for details. It will show you how to proceed. If you don't have VxVM v3.5 at the least then I don't think it can be done.
