    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Since you are already running DLT7000's, I would bypass the DLT8000's and go to Ultrium.&lt;BR /&gt;You will see about a 5x or so performance increase (if you can feed it data at that rate)&lt;BR /&gt;per drive. I would say something like a 10/180 library would be your next logical step.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As for software, OmniBack or Veritas would be my choices and it is probably time to look at a SAN environment. I assume that you are already using TimeFinder, split mirrors, and/or VxFS snapshots to effectively increase your backup window so that speed is no so important. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I can say, that St. Bernard Software Open File Manager is a great solution for NT backups when used in conjunction with OmniBack.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards, Clay</description>

      <title>Tape upgrade</title>

      <description>We are looking to upgrade from our present omniback II, 4/48 7000 dlt tape system, that backs up our EMC &amp;amp; NT disks.  Any suggestion of products, hardware and software that will improve performance and back up times, will be appreciated.</description>
