power cycle question

Hi,
I was working on configuring ip for the hpvmnet..but some how system is stuck and could interrupt. I was trying to power cycle the box using the front panel switch ...which did not help. How do i interrupt the system or pwer cycle through MP console...please advice.

There is always the expedient of removing the power cable(s) and that will be no worse than a TOC.

Hi,

wait a moment ... "hpvmnet" - this looks like Integrity virtual machines!

Where is your problem?

I guess you want to powercycle your VM - I'm right?

In this case you should log on to the "virtual" MP of your system:

# hpvmconsole -P your_vm

(This looks like the real MP!)

Here you can "switch off" the VM using the "pc" command

[guest1] vMP> pc -off

or just

[guest1] vMP> pc

You must run this command from the VM Host.

Check the results with "hpvmstatus" from the VM Host.

BTW, are you sure you switched off the right system?

You can switch off the whole system with

MP:CM> pe

command (from the "real" MP).
