      <title>ORACLE INSTALLTION</title>

      <description>Hai all&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I facing a problem while installing Oracle 7.3.2.2 in HP-UX 10.20 ,that after mounting the CD using pfs mount as below,&lt;BR /&gt;#pfs_mountd &amp;amp;&lt;BR /&gt;#pfs &amp;amp;&lt;BR /&gt;#pfs_mount -x unix /dev/dsk/c0t2d0 /cdrom&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The mounted file system on the cdrom is not displaying file names more that 8 characters..&lt;BR /&gt;I tried the same command with -t iso9960 otion also but the result is same..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Because of that while installing oracle it is giving on error "error occured while copying file oiconnect from /cdrom/bin to $ORACLE_HOME"&lt;BR /&gt;while searching the same file in the cdrom i could find only a file named /cdrom/bin/oiconnec&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can any body help me to sortout this issue&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance&lt;BR /&gt;By&lt;BR /&gt;Anith Prabhakar.C</description>

      <description>Shalom Anith,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It sounds like bad media.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The mount command I'm giving was developed for much newer Oracle media then you are using.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Oracle has been using rockridge for some time and it may work.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/sbin/mount -F cdfs -e -o ro,rr /dev/dsk/c3t2d0 /cdrom&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Chagne /dev/dsk/c3t2d0 to the actual cd rom device.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Since this is 10.20 and out of suport the mount command may not even be supported.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>hi Anith,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;can you try the attached script?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also verify that cdrom is not damaged. In the worst case, you may have to zip all the files on a windows environment, ftp and unzip them on the hp-ux.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;kind regards&lt;BR /&gt;yogeeraj</description>
