Hi,

something is wrong with your path

0/2/1/0.97

all devices showing no hardware.

First thing I would do is to check the connected switch (switchshow etc) and if there is some light and link indicator on the card..

Just in case you are replacing the the HBA you need to adjust all settings on your SAN/storage devices based on the WWN of the HBA.

I think i have a failed HBA. i checked with swlist and there are no multipathing s/w installed. I have attached the ioscan output. when i install the HBA will the new HBA install trigger any changes in C#t#d#? also is it just enough if i install the hba and run insf -e? now sure how i would determine if my new path is working. Please advise

Thanks

brian

Shalom,

insf -C disk

creates new disk paths.

Use xstm, cstm, mstm for a software solution to checking the hardware.

Use your eyes to look for obvious cable issues or lights not lit on the HBA.

SEP

Check the syslog file for device related errors. Moreover you can check with fcmsutil for HBA functionality. Since your HBA is claimed the problem could simply be in the fabric layer i.e. incorrect zoning, lun masking or bad cables. Make sure you check those out before you decide to replace the HBA.
