Welcome to the forums :-)

You really need to supply a lot more detail to help people work on this! What do you want to backup, what backup utility do you want to use, what backup medium do you have? Other details such as server model, OS and what it is used for would be useful.

Totally impossible question to answer without information.

What do you want to back up? Boot volume, configuration a database? Can the database be down for backup? how long?
