    <description>Do it occur to you to try a "man identd" before posting your question? You might then have asked a follow up question that was more pointed. In any event, unless you are running Serviceguard, there is a good chance that you can safely comment out the identd entry and issue an inetd -c command. Identd isn't required on most systems.</description>
