I have a L3000 running hpux11.11. It is hooked up to 1 EMC san and we are now trying to hook it up to a Clariion CX3 san. It has been zoned on the SAN but the hp server does not log into the san. Usually it does that and then the san admin selects it and assigns it LUNS. I restart my naviclient agent and then do ioscan. The luns show up. This time the san admin said the hp server was not logging into the ports for him to select them for lun assignment.

I should see 4 paths to each lun. The san admin manually created an initiator record and 1 path to the luns showed up. The same process did not work for the other paths.

This is what ioscan shows:
disk 66 0/3/0/0.99.14.239.0.0.5 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE DGC CX3-40WDR5
disk 67 0/3/0/0.99.14.239.0.0.6 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE DGC CX3-40WDR5
disk 68 0/3/0/0.99.14.239.0.0.7 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE DGC CX3-40WDR5
disk 59 0/3/0/0.99.15.255.14.15.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE DGC LUNZ

disk 3 0/9/0/0.100.11.255.14.15.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE DGC LUNZ
disk 4 0/9/0/0.100.12.255.14.15.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE DGC LUNZ

Any ideas?

Thanx for the response. The hba's are currently working with 2 other EMC sans with no problems Have been for several years.

We plan to remove the host from the san and set it up again. Unless someone has seen this before and has a solution.

By the way does anyone know if fcsmutil really sends data to a port. EMC requested that I send data to the SAN ports after the host had been zoned. I used the following cmds but still the san did not see my hba register.

# Show status of all ports accessable from this hba.
fcmsutil /dev/td3 get remote all

# Checking remotes status of a port.
fcmsutil /dev/td3 rls 0x640cef

# Send test packet.
fcmsutil /dev/td3 test 0x640bef 200 1
