      <description>Your /etc/mail directory is world-writable.  Change the permissions.  Ours (dev. env.) are set to 555.</description>

      <description>Both /etc and /etc/mail have bad permissions. This implies that there may be MANY more bad directory permissions. Did someone run the chmod -R 777 command, possibly trying to 'fix' a permissions problem? You may have a *lot* more work to do to repair the damage. 777 is a big red flag that something is wrong.</description>

      <description>&amp;gt;Bill: You may have a *lot* more work to do to repair the damage.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can use swverify to check permissions.  The -F option can be used to correct them.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;(Unfortunately I don't see an entry for /etc/mail but at least the files may be checked?)</description>
