      <description>This sounds like a personal problem to me. You need to start with the basics. Can you ping the HP-UX box from your PC by IP Address and hostname? Can you ping your PC from your HP-UX box? Have you used traceroute? It might be something as trivial as no telnetd entry in /etc/inetd.conf but you must first establish that you have basic network connectivity.</description>

      <description>If you see a very long delay before getting a login prompt, your HP-UX server is most likely failing with DNS. Verify this by using nslookup as in:&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;nslookup hp.com&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;If no one responds, you don't have a working DNS server so rename the file /etc/resolv.conf to something like resolv.conf.old and try again. If it works OK, your DNS servers are refusing to talk to your HP-UX box.</description>
