HPUX does not accept necessary patch

I tried to install patchs below:
PHSS_32508
PHSS_32509
PHSS_32510
PHSS_32731
PHSS_32732
PHNE_28810

And It gave me error log. I attached the error log.

I need to know solution. I need to install these patchs for my software installation.

Is there anyone to help me?

They are not the error messages but just notes indicating that the products to which these patches apply are not found in the system.

The patches are typically fixes/enhancements to a product and if you dont have that product installed in the system, then what do you need those patches for ?

You can safely move on to the next step in your software installation.

I presume these are patches that you've read about as pre-reqs for Oracle yes?

What Oracle do is list pacthes for all products that you *might* have installed even if you don't.

So for example, one of the patches might be for Serviceguard or Serviceguard extension for RAC, but if you don't use those products you don't need the patches.

Another common one is patches for the ANSIC/C++ compilers that are only relevant if you are developing in ProC and have the HPUX compiler installed.

If you don't have the product installed, ignore the pre-req from Oracle.

I'm installing Oracle 10g into my HPUX 11.11 system.

a few steps later Oracle checking the necessary patchs. And reports the missing patchs and does not go to the next step.

We have installed Oracle 10G as well and have seen the very issue with the Oracle installer.

I don't believe Oracle installer is "smart" enough to look for the superseeded patches or the patches for the products that are not even installed in the system. It is only hardcoded to look for the specific patches and report them as missing if they are not found in the IPD.

You can safely ignore these messages and move on with the next steps.

Just make sure the kernel parameters check is marked as "PASSED".

The fillowing patches are updated and the details are as follows

PHSS_32508 replaced by PHSS_35099
PHSS_32509 replaced by PHSS_35098
PHSS_32510 replaced by PHSS_35100

The first 3 pathes in the following list are OLd and need an update.

PHNE_28810 sendmail(1m) 8.9.3 patch (OLD)
PHSS_32731 Serviceguard A.11.16.00 (OLD)
PHSS_32732 COM B.03.00.00 (OLD)
PHSS_35098 ANSI C compiler B.11.11.16 cumulative patch
PHSS_35099 HP aC++ Compiler (A.03.73)
PHSS_35100 +O4/PBO Compiler B.11.11.16 cumulative patch

From the patches I could see that the server is underpatched and it would be worth re considering the patch level.

Also check you have the relevant application installed on the server prior to the patch install, else the pacth will be skipped.

Shalom,

If you meet each one of the Oracle installers guidelines, Oracle WILL install.

There is mention of a bi-annual patch set that needs to be in besides the other patches you are mentioning.
