It looks like all the virtual machines will be rebooted ..if the hpvm host is rebooted.If it is true ..?

Yes that's true If there are 4 virtual machines of a host then all of them will be rebooted if we reboot host..

And that's an other reason to run the hpvm host just as host, tuned as a host. Don't use it to run applications which may need specific tuning causing the need for a reboot, and an uncontrolled application might wedge the host and with that all guests.

Why would you expect anything else to happen?

If the host that the VM's are running on is rebooted, how are the VM's supposed to run? It makes absolutely perfect sense if you stop and think about.

I guess the question is: shutdown or reboot?

I already did a test - the guests are doing a reboot (-h or even -q -h), not a shutdown.

So you should do a shutdown on the guest before you shutdown the host.

Unless HPVM does something special?, shutting down the host is the same as pulling out the power plug on the guests.

Yes that's true. Make sure autoreboot is set on the Virtual Host otherwise it may not come back up automatically when the host is rebooted
