Hi,
I would like to change my print queue name , how do i do that, no options at sam and hppi utility.please advice

Unfortuantely, the only way I ever figured to do it was to delete the queue, then re-add it with the new name.

Pete is correct. You will need to use lpadmin -x to remove the printer and then use lpadmin admin again to add the printer. If this is a Network printer then you use the removequeue and addqueue commands to do the same thing. Man lpadmin, removequeue, addqueue for details.

Since you are using hppi, the best way is to use two commands: removequeue and addqueue. In fact, forget using hppi and just use addqueue to add a new printer. Assuming your printer name is prn1 with an IP address of 12.34.56.78:

removequeue -q prn1
addqueue -q prn2 -h 12.34.56.78

That's all there is to do with HP network printers.
