    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;we see a strange behavior on our HP-UX 11.23 Itanium System with Java applications.&lt;BR /&gt;Our Java Application is running with &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/opt/java1.4/bin/IA64W/java -Xmx256m -verbose:gc -DPID=1 .......&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Glance ist reporting &lt;BR /&gt;RSS 25856 kb&lt;BR /&gt;VSS 493224 kb&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;procsize shows:&lt;BR /&gt;hpux 11.23 64 bit in Wide mode&lt;BR /&gt;nproc=4200&lt;BR /&gt;  pid Comm             UAREA   TEXT   DATA  STACK  SHMEM     IO   MMAP    Total&lt;BR /&gt;15389 java           v   486     37   8192  65536   9891      0 128803   214994&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;could someone please explain this phenomen?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;HP-UX B.11.23 U ia64 &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;java version "1.4.2.09"&lt;BR /&gt;Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2.09-050713-03:34)&lt;BR /&gt;Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.4.2 1.4.2.09-050713-12:56-IA64W IA64W, mixed mode)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks&lt;BR /&gt;Gerhard&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
