>> print command not found

Where did you leave it?

Or did you perhaps issue:

$ echo print command not found

Congratulations! That woudl do it.

Now if you were in the Csh on hpux, then you can get a much similar, but not exactly the same result, by just typing 'print'

% print
print: Command not found.

Under the default sh-posix the print command is a shell built-in much similar to 'echo' is it not avaible under the csh.
Try man sh-posix

Hein.

It would help if you could put some of your question into the subject rather than just "q".

Hi Amal,
:-) you've got some nice answers :-)

It could indicate that:
- you're missing some basic knowledge
- you need to rephrase you're question

The manual pages could be a nice place to start.
man {command}

If you don't know which exact manual page to look for, you could use the command:
man -k {keyword}

If you get an error searching for keyword, issue this command first:
catman -w
then try again.

For printing to a printer, you might take a look at the man pages for:
lp - print requests on an LP destination

If you're looking for a print command for output to your terminal (similare to echo), you should know that this is a "built-in" command in you command shell. Not all command shells have this command.
(even so under MS/DOS :-)

/Tor-Arne
