I am sending emails from unix using the mailx command. 95% of the emails go thru. In the mail.log I see this message: May 14 11:31:44 rp7410 sendmail[9807]: LAA09807: Authentication-Warning: rp7410.
tawinc.com: jhagstro set sender to jhagstro@tawinc.com using -r
What does the authentication waring mean?
This is an RP7410 running HPUX 11.00. I am creating the mailx command in programming language called PROGRESS, version 9. It happens when I also do it from the command line.

This is the command from the unix prompt: mailx -s "TEST EMAIL" -r jhagstro@tawinc.com jeff.hagstrom@tawinc.com.com < x.tx
t
The -r forces the usage of certain sender for the mail message. You get a warning because the message in this way can be spoofed.

Shalom,

The receiving server requires authentication to send it mail. Comply or deal with the reject. I'd say the mail is going some place it should not go.

SEP
