Hi,

Server: rx6600
Physical Memory: 12 Gb
CPU:4
When i try to create the VM Guest, the VM host need 4 Gb memory. Is it True?

Can i modify this?

I would like 6 Gb for each VM guest.

Hi,

read the manual - there is a formula given for the host requirement of memory.
If you don't have enough memory - install more ;-)

For the memory status run

hpvmstatus -m

Be aware the host may require a bit more than showed.

Sorry, wrong command.
correct:

hpvmstatus -s

In your configuration you can give each guest 6Gb only, if there is only 1 guest running at a time.

Otherwise it is nearly
4GB (host) and 4GB for each guest.

I would like to create 2 VM Guests.

i would create 6Gb of memory for each VM guest, but when i start both, give me an error qhen i start the second VM Guest.

The message give to me that need 4 Gb for the VM Host. Can i modify this?

Yes - you can assign less memory to the guests or install more memory to the server.

but i need the documentation speaking about this (the physical memory of VM Host need 4 Gb for use), or a HP note speaking about this.

HP-UX CSE, the book by Charles Keenan recommends a minimum of 1 GB memory for a vpar. If you want it to do any significant work, add more.

Integrity Virtual Machines is very different to virtual partitions.
But both are virtual and need some memory ;-)
