EMACs on HP-UX 11i

The documentatiion for UX 11i says that GNU tools are included. I thought that they would be installed automatically. I used the CORE OE June 2001 B3920-14046 CDs. Perl is in /usr/contrib/bin, but I don't see Emacs.
Is it on an applications CD or on one of the other Operating Environments?

Hi Eileen,

The perl version in /usr/contrib/bin is 5.005_02 which is really old. I would recommend installing a new version.

If you are looking for a binary version(swinstall format), you can get that here
http://gatekeep.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/Languages/perl-5.6.1/

If not you can download the sourcecode and compile it yourself
