problem about shutdown message!

I have run this command on rp3440 11.11
"shutdown -hy 0"
at last,we got the information,
----------------------------------------
System has halted
OK to turn off power or reset system
UNLESS "WAIT for UPS to turn off power" message was printed above
-----------------------------------------
But i have run the same command on rx7620
11.23
i can not get above message?
Could you tell me why there is the difference?

Hi lin
Its a indication that it is safe to power off your server and do so.
"System has halted; OK to turn off power or reset system" means the system has halted, and it's OK to turn off the power or reset the system.

Yes,But I want to know why there is no such message on rx7620 11.23?
I confirm that I have halted the server normally and successfully.

There are some differences between those systems, the RP3440 is a HP9000 and the RX7620 is an Itanium.
Don't think that's the cause of the difference you're seeing but another big difference might.
The RX7620 is a cell based system.
Depending on the setup you could have several partitions in that system and when you shutdown one of those it wouldn't be a smart thing to turn of system power since that would effect the other running partitions.
That might be the reason.

You may want to try if this patch helps.
