      <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The old school way.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Take a 1 GB file.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;date&lt;BR /&gt;tar cvf /dev/rmt/0m filename&lt;BR /&gt;date&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1 GB divided by elapsed time.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Some of the commercial tape backup programs display throughput during or at end of job. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
