    <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Oracle recommend's relinking after such a process. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Officially they support nothing but re-installation.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Practically speaking, relink of binaries should work.  Do have time in your project plan in case something goes wrong and you need to reinstall the oracle binaries.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>Hi Admins&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We are planning to do cold installation from 11.11 to 11.23 on standalone PA-RISC server where in oracle binary including database is in san storage.We will be importing all VG of oracle after installation.All necessay file will be modified like host,passwd,aliase,group,oratab,oraevn in etc folder.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;But I have query that any change need to do done from oracle database and application respect or it will come up in one go.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks in advance&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Jai</description>

      <description>Hi Jai.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Steven is correct. You should only need to relink. However as part of the installation process make sure that all the dependant patches are installed, especially the C header files, and that the memory and kernel parameters are not significantly different from the existing server you are replacing, you can tune them later, rather get the database up first.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My recommendation would be to run the Oracle installer on that server to check on the kernel parameters and patchlevels before you mount and start the database.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Andrew Y</description>
