Shalom Macho,

The first thing you need to decide is what your backup tool is.

How to go about this depends on what tool is used to make the backup.

fbackup/freocver??? They can do incremental backups.

You might find intial setup using sam somewhat easier.

SEP

Please guide how to perform and restore the full backup follow by differential backup in hpux 11.23 using hpux command.

The purpose is I want to restore the latest full backup and the latest differential.

The reason I want to used diffrential backup is the differential backup is a faster process than restoring an incremental backup because only two backup container files are needed: the latest full backup and the latest differential.

Hi,

I would recommend you to use a modern backup utility (e.g. Data Protector) insted of "native" HP-UX commands as fbackup. With Data Protector, backup and restore is simple "point and click" in a GUI.

For distaster recovery of the system disk you should look at the Ignite tool.
