When you run ioscan, do you find any "unknown" devices? Is the stape driver loaded in your kernel?

Pete

when i try to add tape device via sam the system answer: all related tape-drivers are currently configured into the kernel. No kernel rebuilding is necessery.
result of ioscan is attached.

Shalom,

These new tape drives are supposed to be self terminating.
Sometimes what looks like a scsi connector is not. The new (for hpux) smart card adapters intended for raid hardware mirroring will not support a tape drive like this.

If there is an alternate scsi connection, try it. Also try a fresh cable.

SEP
