Hi,

I have created 3 users on the NIS Master Server. We have 5 NIS slave servers on our subnet. The issue is not all NIS slave servers got updated (Only two servers got updated). Because of this issue these new users are not able to login to the servers. It would be great if you can give any resolution for this issue ASAP

Thanks in advance
Mani

Do the maps exist on the slaves? You will have to run ypxfr manually from the slave for new maps. Are all your slaves in the servers ypservers map for automated updates?

I would suggest running a manual ypxfr from your slaves, then ensure your slaves are setup properly to receive automated updated.

Thanks for your reply.

ypfxrd is running. A small change on the issue. I have added that 3 users into a group and from some servers the user is getting the group and on other servers(even they are the members of the same domain) not getting the group.

Please give me your suggestions.

again, I would run ypxfr manually to transfer the maps and troubleshoot why the automated push is not working afterwords.

ypservers should have all slaves for yppush for automated transfer.
