What CDE cumulative patches do you have installed on your systems? I have found the following in CDE cum patches.

dtlogin performance degradation because of large buffer size.

using sleep(1) decreased dtlogin performance.

dtlogin consumes CPU after it reaches ~2000 open pipes.

I suggest you update your CDE cumulative patch for your 11.x systems.

HTH,

Vito
Hi experts
I have 552Mhz processor in a K-460 Hp 9000 running Hp-UX 11.0. My problem is when some users log on the 'dtsession' shows nearly 98% CPU usage.
This keeps showing as if the users are on even inspite of their logging out. I have tried manually to kill the process which were consuming the CPU, I need to know whats the permanent fix for this. Which Kernel parameters do I need to tune or increase to avoid this.
Thanks in advance
Shiv
