    <description>&amp;gt;At the command line, I enter a 4 digit character position id and the results are sLen has a value of 7;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Passing cin to printAgent, I just get the 4 digits I typed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt;2) do I also need to obtain the HP aC++ runtime libraries as well -- the ones that are now -AA?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Yes, you need to get the runtime libs too.       <description>2 part question&lt;BR /&gt;1: I upgraded to the new HP C/aC++ Developer's Bundle -- ie  HP ANSI C++ B3910B A.03.70 and now one of our developer are saying quote"  &lt;BR /&gt;Here is my code for the istream problem:&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;void printAgent( istream&amp;amp; iss, ostream&amp;amp; oss, void *)&lt;BR /&gt;{&lt;BR /&gt;   string posId;&lt;BR /&gt;   iss &amp;gt;&amp;gt; posId;&lt;BR /&gt;   int sLen = posId.length();&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;At the command line, I enter a 4 digit character position id and the results are sLen has a value of 7; the four digits I entered plus 3 characters of -1 (0xFF)." &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;cssdev01:/&lt;BR /&gt;root:&amp;gt; swlist | grep -i c++&lt;BR /&gt;  B9007AA                               B.11.11.16     HP C/aC++ Developer's Bundle&lt;BR /&gt;  PHSS_33945                            1.0            HP aC++ -AA runtime libraries (aCC A.03.76)&lt;BR /&gt;cssdev01:/&lt;BR /&gt;root:&amp;gt;  swlist | grep ANSI&lt;BR /&gt;  B3901BA&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2: Since I'm not very knowledgeable on the compilers, do I also need to obtain the HP aC++ runtime libraries as well -- the ones that are now -AA?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;tks&lt;BR /&gt;lm</description>
