      <description>hello all,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;when trying to pvdisplay a physical volume i get following error&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;pvdisplay: Warning: couldn't query physical volume "/dev/dsk/c2t0d0":&lt;BR /&gt;The specified path does not correspond to physical volume attached to&lt;BR /&gt;this volume group&lt;BR /&gt;pvdisplay: Warning: couldn't query all of the physical volumes.&lt;BR /&gt;pvdisplay: Couldn't retrieve the names of the physical volumes&lt;BR /&gt;belonging to volume group "/dev/vg00".&lt;BR /&gt;pvdisplay: Cannot display physical volume "/dev/dsk/c2t0d0"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i tried diskinfo it says: no such device or address&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;also the device file for this PV is present. both the charachter and block device files.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;when trying ioscan -fnC disk it gives no output.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can anyone tell me what is the prob with the PV&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards&lt;BR /&gt;Sunny</description>

      <description>It's gone?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you boot the server after a disk died, you cannot see this disk in ioscan - there is no NO-HW entry.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# strings /etc/lvmtab&lt;BR /&gt;and&lt;BR /&gt;# vgdisplay -v vg00</description>

      <description>The disk is probably dead. Do a string /etc/lvmtab and see what drives vg00 is suppose to contain.</description>

      <description>Just an additional thought ... If you say "ioscan -fnC disk" returns no output, that means your system has no disks.&lt;BR /&gt;If that is so, where has your system booted from ???</description>

      <description>/etc/lvmtab shows the entry of the disk&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;this disk is a mirror copy of /dev/dsk/c1t0d0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and both these disks are used for secondary swap... &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Does this info help</description>
