    <description>Im using HPUX 11.23 on rx8640 and it seems to have very high usage of system memory (taken from glance mem report) &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sys Mem:   18.4gb&lt;BR /&gt;User Mem:  70.0gb&lt;BR /&gt;Phys Mem:  95.8gb&lt;BR /&gt;Buf Cache: 981mb&lt;BR /&gt;Free Mem:  6.5gb&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The system has 3 cell boards and 1 NPAR running 4 SAP development instances and a standby DR instance that is not actively used.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I've downloaded the kmeminfo tool from WTEC and  it broke it down into the following:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;----------------------------------------------------------------------&lt;BR /&gt;Physical memory usage summary (in page/byte/percent):&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;Physical memory       = 25115380   95.8g 100%&lt;BR /&gt;Free memory           =  2897600   11.1g  12%&lt;BR /&gt;User processes        = 18114738   69.1g  72%  details with -user&lt;BR /&gt;System                =  4024111   15.4g  16%&lt;BR /&gt;  Kernel              =  3772958   14.4g  15%  kernel text and data&lt;BR /&gt;    Dynamic Arenas    =  2421606    9.2g  10%  details with -arena&lt;BR /&gt;      vx_inode_cache  =   771293    2.9g   3%&lt;BR /&gt;      VFD_BT_NODE     =   262990    1.0g   1%&lt;BR /&gt;      vx_global_pool  =   253102  988.7m   1%&lt;BR /&gt;      vx_buffer_cache =   156992  613.2m   1%&lt;BR /&gt;      vx_rwsleeplock_ =   146926  573.9m   1%&lt;BR /&gt;      Other arenas    =   830303    3.2g   3%  details with -arena&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Looks like the kernel itself it taking up most of this space. Is there anyway to reduce the amount used?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Daniel.</description>
