swinstall and source path

when I run swinstall I can only change the target path. In other words, the "action" menu
does not show source path selection...

Looks like a restricted configuration. Please
help.

Hi peter,

Under SAM -> Software management -> Install Software to local host

you can have the source path to slect Bundles from. Is that you were looking for?

If you enter "swinstall" on the command line to bring up the interactive gui, the first screen to come up should be "Specify Source" and you can fill in the Source Host Name and the Source Depot Path.

You can also specify the source on the command line like this: "swinstall -s /path_to_source".

Thanks for your help, but the problem is
that somehow this is all blocked. I can only
"add target", "add target group" and "save target group". So somehow the rest is blocked.

What release are you on? (uname -a)

What user are you? (id)

Are swacls set? (swacl -l root)

hi,

try to restart swagentd daemon:
# swagentd -r

go to your source directory that u want to install.
# swinstall -s /source_dir/depot_file \*

note: give the points to all that give you some suggestion according to your question!
