Hi Navin,

Yes you can use the gui (vea), select the filesystem application, right click mouse and select resize. You can also use below command.

# vxresize -F vxfs -g rootdg application +XXXm

replace the XXX with the megabytes you would like to add, if gygabytes use the +XXXg.

Regards,
Robert-Jan

Hi Navin:

The issue is whether or not you have OnlineJFS. Do a 'swlist|grep -i online" to look for it. If you do, you don't need to unmount the filesystem to enlarge it. You use 'fsadm' to increase the fileystem size while the filesytem is still mounted. See the manpages for details. If you don't have OnlineJFS, you will need to boot into single user mode and use 'extendfs' to expand the filesystem.

Since the root filesystem ('/') must be contiguous, you won't be able to expand it without extra effort in either case.

Since '/stand/' is an HFS filesystem and not a VxFS one, whether or not you have OnlineJFS is immaterial. It too, must be contiguous and you won't be able to either unmount it or expand it dynamically.

Regards!

...JRF...
