1. if i boot the system with the tap drive, whether it will give me a console prompt or normal prompt?

2. can we create the two user id with the same uid?

1. It depends on what is on the tape. If it is bootable, I would guess that you would get a console prompt, assuming that is where you booted the tape drive from. Actually, I'm not sure what you mean by a console versus a normal prompt. What's normal?

It depends what is on the tape.

For a firmware update tape you will probably get an ODE prompt.

For an ignite tape you will probably get the ignite install screen ...

A bootable tape will give you a prompt but you will not be at a conventional shell prompt. Bootable tapes are intended for patch (almost always firmware updates) installation and Ignite installations. An Ignite tape boot will leave you at the normal system installation screen that you see when installing the OS from CD's (or DVD's).

While you can create multiple logins which share a common UID, this is considered very bad practice. Most companies have policies which forbid this practice. Moreover, when listing users or file ownships) the first login found matching the UID will be displayed.

and to add to what A. Clay noted about uids: It get really interesting when you delete one of the users that "shares" the uid as well. Its a great way to delete stuff you didn't intend on deleting
