I'm administer a HP-UX B.11.11 U 9000/800. I losing my root password and I can't reboot my server using command anymore. Is there any way I can possibly reboot without command line or force reboot (reset the button). I try to play safe here without doing any harm to my server. Thanks

If you have no root access at all you may consider to reset the server.
Log on to the MP and issue a "rs".

Consider this:
For the OS this is a real reset, not a clean shutdown.

Telnet to the IP of remote console - this is MP (management processor). Login with administrative account (if not changed its Admin/Admin). From menus go to commands (CM) and RS (reset system). Good option is to use TC to keep crash dumps for analyze.

regards,
ivan

Unfortunately, there's nothing appeared afterward. It stuck at that prompt.

What shall i do. Did I'm suppose to wait or something bad happen to my HP-UX.
