topic HP SIM Application Discovery not found !!! in Operating System - HP-UX

Hello all,

We have 2 IA Superdomes on HPUX B.11.23 with vPar A.04.03.03. HP Sim C.05.01.00.01.13 with VSE suite A.03.00.00.05 installed. This is a brand new installation. We are presently evaluating the products. We are mainly interested in the Capacity Advisor and the gWLM interface.

We are having 2 issues that hopefully you can help us with. The first one is with the AD (Application Discovery) that does not show in the "Tools --Integrated Consoles -- Application Discovery". Under "Integrated Consoles" we only have "HP Blade Systems" and "Webmin" ? The second issue is with the "Create Monitored Workload Definition". We have 3 MC/SG clusters, yet the "Cluster" radio button is greyed out even when a vPar part of one of those clusters is selected.

I've pushed the Providers and Discovery Agents to all the managed nodes. Configured WBEM etc, etc. I had to use the manual procedure for the "Certificate Exchange" (mxagentconfig and amgr_remote_config)as I don't have the "Exchange AD Agent Certificates" under "Configure -- Configure VSE Agents".

When "Identify Systems" runs (attached), it does report that this node is part of a Service Guard Cluster. Also I ran the different tests under "Diagnose -- Troubleshoot VSE management" (attached), they all pass except for the gWLM one, but that's because of the lisense (LTU) since we did not yet install the LTU.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric.
Canadian National Railway.
Eric,
This seems like a large implementation where HPSIM is only a small part of the equation.

You should be eligible for a lot of HP assistance in this directly. There's a few other forums where these other products are discussed.

You could separate out any HPSIM issues and we'll try and add value.
